(NOLOCK) FOR YESFUN: What You Need to Know About Transaction Isolation

Understanding transaction isolation is critical for surviving job interviews, writing software, and administering databases. Most developers and database technologists learn a few habits early on and don't understand transaction isolation in depth. This talk will help! We'll discuss the benefits and problems of each isolation level. We'll also talk about practical changes you can make to provide the right level of concurrency for your users. A broadsheet handout will be downloadable to keep your knowledge fresh as time passes.

Speaker Bio

Kendra Little is a technologist who has spent ten years nerding out on SQL Server. She focuses on large scale system design and improving performance in high-traffic database environments. She enjoys creating effective processes, designing automation, and rumor has it she's written documentation that people WANT to read. Kendra has a Masters in Philosophy and a salt shaker full of certifications, but all the best stuff she's learned lately has come from her smarty-pants colleagues and the SQL Server community. Read her blog and check out her free SQL Server posters at http://littlekendra.com.
